Chris Woehl, Executive Director for Technology, leads the Lake Travis Independent School District’s Technology program. With over two decades of experience in the field, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at Lake Travis ISD, where he has been a driving force since 2013.
Before joining Lake Travis ISD in 2013, Chris's journey in Eanes Independent School District began in roles that laid the groundwork for technological excellence. As a Support Specialist, Network and Infrastructure Coordinator, and later, Assistant Director of Technology, he was instrumental in implementing a robust technology infrastructure to support the district's 1:1 initiative while maintaining a high level of service and support to ensure reliable and equitable technology access for all students.
Chris's leadership style is dynamic and visionary, and he is widely recognized for his strategic approach to technology in education. His experience spans more than 23 years, during which he has been pivotal in driving technological advancements and IT transformations in some of Texas's leading school districts. His strategic thinking, leadership, and community engagement have been crucial in educating the public on district needs, particularly in responsibly managing over $150 million in voter-approved technology bond projects and multimillion-dollar operating budgets. His unique blend of strategic, tactical, and operational leadership skills and exceptional interpersonal abilities set Chris apart as an effective communicator, known for his excellent writing and speaking skills, and his presentations significantly impact various stakeholders.
